Facet begins with irregular, planar shapes that I cut and assemble into a cohesive whole. The angles are intuitive rather than fixed, allowing tension and instability to shape the composition. Each piece carries its own direction and weight, and I work through how they hold together. Some pieces grow from a vessel, providing a stabilizing framework for a slower, more contemplative approach, while others are built from the ground up using templates, which allow for a faster, more immediate process as planes are quickly arranged and adjusted.
